Historically, sequential eBay auction growth has been highest in the first quarter, and then lower (but consistent) for the next three quarters.

For example, during 1998, it grew at over 120 percent in Q1, followed by 50 percent sequential quarterly growth for the next 3 quarters.

(The prior year had apparently shown similar growth patterns.)

So, unlike everyone else, I do not expect a percentage rise in Q4 much greater than Q2 or Q3.

The good news is that eBay should show strong growth in Q1 of next year.
