I guess we just have to agree to disagree. 2 way communication is important but not as much as a priority as TV to most people in rural areas. TVs are a way of spreading literacy...something a phone cannot do to an audience of thousands in a village.

I just heard the real audio with Globalstar's Senior Director of Mktg and he spoke of China and India being key markets. Assuming that no replacement has been found for Hyundai in the countries that they dropped out of, it is interesting that Globalstar does not even have a service provider in India. Again, assuming it takes about 12-18 months to get operational, does this mean that one of Globalstar's key fixed markets will not have service until at least early 2001? China I do believe will be a big market for both fixed and mobile phones for Globalstar.

So Globalstar has announced a launch date of October 11th. Which countries? Is this a commercial launch or just commercial trials? Is there going to be an ad campaign focusing on this October 11 launch date like Iridium did with their September xx launch date?
