Steven, if you study John Kennedy's short life, you find it full of extremely quiet charitable good works. He had enormous charisma, an interesting intellect, and was a decent and caring person. When you put this together with compassion and leadership ability, certainly it presented a hopeful package of skills and talents for the future. When you consider at the same time the gaping chasm where inspired political leadership for the millennium should be developing, it was certainly hopeful for me, at least, that he was in the background, biding his time and considering what he had to offer America.
