Maybe you been on point in the Ia Drang or dropped in on a hot LZ or two, but I don't think so, X.

Re. the hypo -- there was no indication either of the two have to die; just mate or refuse to mate.

I brought the soldier thing up simply to illustrate extreme sacrifice is not uncommon.

Soldiers don't much like dying for any reason. The good ones do their duty.
