Excellent article.

The following caught my eye:

Finally, be sure that you understand what service impact to expect when the provider upgrades to new equipment that offers more lambdas per fiber. Such a move is certain to affect your service unless the carrier designs the lambda network to isolate customer feeders from llambda trunks that create the ring or mesh of customer services.

Are they referring to terabit routers when they speak of carriers ability to isolate feeders from llambda trunks? If so, is this ability built into the system's architecture? I'm trying to understand the differences between Nexabit, Pluris, Avici, and IronBridge's solutions and it's not easy when you don't understand the language.

Thanks for any help you can give.
