Pat,
Bring on Mr Fun or Frank Coluccio! It is my understanding that they are referring to the products built by Sycamore and Monterey Networks, which are not routers and are unrelated to terabit routers. These are lambda trunks(converters) for different protocols into lightwaves which forgo Add/Drop Multiplexers. They don't direct traffic per se. They deal with bandwidth in the fiber.

Check with Mr Fun about the terabit router products(hangs out on NT and CSCO threads), he knows the router biz.
