[Blues]

Durro --

What would life be like without the blues???? I hate what's happening with the stock (though it seems to be improving today) and singing the blues is a time-honored release. So, too, is story-telling. Look at the drawings on the caves of Lascaux. Heroes were created and myths formed as those pre-historic people sat around camp fires recounting battles they'd won and conflicts overcome.

Since I'm not a trader, I don't know what else to do during the down times. In the movie Koyla, there's one place where the child realizes his grandmother is really dead and isn't coming back and in his deepest moment of pain he asks for a story. His accidental father (I forget his name) can't read in Russian so phones a friend and has her read to him over the phone. As her voice reaches him in his own language, he snuggles under the covers and his eyes dance in pure pleasure. The viewer doesn't have to understand a word to share the magic.

I would not want to live in a world without music and stories and the human voices that carry them.

Thanks for the great tune.
