Fresh spinach from the garden, sauteed with garlic and oil sounds so good.
Chris is my husband, so he's here. The chili is chili con carne, so he cooks meat in one pan, while he makes the base in a pot. Bell peppers, green onions, garlic, sauteed in olive oil, then beans (canned black beans, red beans and black eyed peas, to taste) and tomatoes (usually stewed tomatoes, but this time fresh), chili powder, extra cumin, extra pepper, always fresh Habaneros, usually Tabasco and powdered cayenne, but this time fresh cayenne), that's it.
It's red, green and black, very colorful, very flavorful. |
