Lincoln Chafee, son of retiring Rhode Island Senator John Chafee, and the leading Republican candidate to succeed his father has today admitted to cocaine use "several times". We should applaud Mr. Chafee for his honesty. But, again, the pervasive use of recreational drugs among politicians creates the specter that we will soon have two classes of recreational drug users: 1) Those in prison for possession (the unfortunate caught). 2) Those in Congress (the fortunate uncaught). Seems unfair. Treatment programs, not prison cells. Nuff said.
