HenryD,

I have an account with Montgomery Securities and they publish a detailed analysis each month on the BTB data. The Semi organization monthly article which you read is just the summary level data but there is much more that they provide to their subscribers.

The monthly data helps provide a ballpark figure for the quarterly sales/btb for companies by sector. In the case of COHU and TER they seem to do better than the monthly published data. I would focus on orders versus the BTB though. July orders for test equipment was relatively flat with June. If August and September were similar then we would expect new orders to be in the $60-65 million range and sales to have jumped to about that level. Of course August data will be published before the next earnings release but September data will come out after Cohu releases its 3rd quarter earnings in October.

Given what has happened with DRAM pricing and new products it would sure seem likely that underlying demand would continue to build. A few months of flat order rates is not bad given how rapidly they jumped to these levels. If equipment order rates tailed off we obviously should be concerned. Time will tell.

Good luck.
