I think the net effect is that it will put more money into eBay's coffers.

And, after a few weeks, the boycotters will find that "there is no place like eBay for getting your stuff sold" and will return.

As far as the auction count: the drop over the weekend is within normal range, as eBay always (unless there has been an outage), drops in count over the weekend.
