It's more an issue of available time than anything else. I still cook bean soup now and then, and occasionally chili, but I never have time to bake bread, make cheese, smoke my own meat, etc.; even the herb garden is pretty ragged.

We actually eat pretty well, just differently. The nostalgia is as much for the overall lifestyle as anything else.
