To all - thoughts after reading Wired magazine article regarding U.P.S.

There was a favorable article about U.P.S. and some of the neat stuff they are working on right now (a "logistics hub") in the September 1999 issue of Wired.

It got me thinking -- if I were ever in the situation of wanting to have some exposure to owning stocks, yet felt nervous about subjecting my financial situation to what I considered a "pricey" stock market (say ... DJ at 15,000 or 20,000 (?)), one solution would be to have ALL funds in just two stocks : U.P.S. and FedEx, on the assumption that between those two companies (and the U.S. Postal Service, of course), you WILL capture the benefits of a (in the long run) growing economy, and the possible explosion of e-commerce.

If it turns out Linux unseats Windows, or DSL beats "wide-band" cable stuff, or whatever -- someone owning just U.P.S. and FedEx could ignore it all, and watch others "beat their brains out" figuring out what stocks to own.

Things would still be shipped.

Any thoughts out there ?

Jon.
