RE: Merced is the platform to build for, just ask sun. i have heard they will quit making their chips in the near future and build entirely for Intel platform.

Please post a reference for this information.

I know Sun will have Solaris on Merced but can not imagine Scott McNealy will abandon Sparc chips. Matter of fact Sun just announced something new...called MAJC. Maybe you'll hear more about it before long.
