carl, an assumption that you make is that ONE 128 mb chip is more expensive than 2 64 mb chips. i'm not convinced that assumption is valid. mu would move to 128 if it was more profitable b/c they are smart (like building billion dollar fabs at the peak of the cycle!) while samsung is stupid so they move to 128 mb chips. you do raise a good point and it is something to consider. i think we both believe that 128 mb chips will be cheaper in the near future. so, mu is barely breakeven and then pricing pressure from 128 mb kicks in... hmmmmm... sounds like a long, slow, but sure, death is occurring here. $200 million in cash... poof... gone this q... all that txn and intel money has almost evaporated...
