I think Rice may be a little unique in this, although I could be wrong- maybe they have all moved toward this. I know some of the A&M parents have told me that all the freshmen attend a week of camp at different times (they're so huge they have to do it in batches)In the late 60s when I started college, we had a lot of that type of thing (beanies and spirit songs and class competitions) and I loved it. For me, the whole dorm experience (4 years) was wonderful and I still have very close and dear friends from those years, so I hope that CW will have similar experiences and make good friends too. He is on our chat line now- telling me about last night and the scavenger hunt--he is having a great time so far, although his roommate talks in his sleep. Of course being incredibly prepared, I had packed earplugs in his first aid kit.
