QwikSand can summarize it. I'll go ahead and go straight for the spin. <g> The Forte thing is about software ("Scotty! More software!" - "I'm givin it all she's got Captain!"). It looks like this is an Alliance thing, as one of the main products is similar to NetDynamics (Netscape application server). In any case, it's something that rounds out an 'end to end' eCommerce solution for Sun salespeople to march around with. This also breaks Sun into a broader range of industries. The IBM thing is curious. Apparently, they just decided to bail on client side Java. That leaves it wide open for Sun. I don't know. Maybe it was a birthday gift. -JCJ
