Whoa, dudes, let's all try to be civil. It's such a fascinating story (Ni and Co), we don't need to be attacking each others credibility. There's so much real news to read, why waste time posting or reading insults. [and this spoken by someone whose feeling's were hurt last week when Dave sort of implied I was misstating my profession] We've all [at least the frequent posters] shown the ability to be both civil and incivil, so let's all (me included) try for the former.

Can we all agree that laterite production is questionable, in to when and how much they deliver? Geoff, if you were an end user of nickel, and bought into the laterite story a year ago, would you make any plans for Ni purchases based on laterite production in the next two years.

I think I posted a copy of weeks ago that the Ozzies are saying that Preston has the best process and Cawse the worst. I think within 6 months you will see nationalization of mines in SA. Anglo will pay any price to diversify into big projects. Preston, according to Moody's is running out of money. Gutnick writes nice things about Cawse while he's selling millions of shares.

Russia is one of the real questions, and it looks like Dave might know more about Norilsk than any of us, although I am uncertain as to how free he is to post what he knows. I think the rest of us know nothing about Russia (Dave, could you post that article, thanks).

Africa, I fear will be depopulated and then undergo a defacto recolonization. AIDS, war and mass starvation. You've got it all except flood and locusts. How much of the Anglo 56kt Ni production comes from Africa? Anybody know?

Sure are a lot of conferences in Oz. Diggers and drillers in Kalgoorlie in August, then Australian Resource Conference (?) and now Ni by the sea, which I think is in Perth.

It's nice to have conferences and make promises, but they can't ship promises.

European steel mills open in 10 days, and DLA, I think, has an auction in Sept. WMC has announced they may re-open the 2 mines they closed in late 98, implying they still don't believe laterites will produce.

CMR silent; usually presages big announcement.

Time will tell. And remember friends, a kind word turneth wrath away.
