Uncle and Dave: the comment by Tate is a marvelous shot across the bow of the good ship DDRDRAM. Imagine the day when a viable sample of working, stable DDR is offered for testing by someone. BANG! The next day Rambus files for patent infringement. The question hangs in the air.....will the actual cost of DDRAM be HIGHER than Rambus if and when it can even be offered due to royalty payments due Rambus on the technology? Using its cash hoard Rambus pursues the tedious litigation process, stirring the waters as necessary to keep DDRAM from winning any design awards. I love this kind of stuff!
