Satan was God's favorite. God loved him the most. Satan and God were best buddies -- until Satan got the idea of becoming his own god and started a war in heaven.
If Satan had been victorious, he would be god now and the being we call God would be in hell -- hey, how do you know that didn't happen? -- after all, you're only taking someone's word for it. God did not write the bible nor transcribe it -- it was done by the hand of groping, primitive savages.
Of course, the whole matter is inconsequential because it is all religious mysticism dressed up to sound real, but is patently irrational.
