To repost tonite's article about OMQP:

Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) announced that it would acquire OmniQuip (NASDAQ: OMQP) for $21 per share in a cash transaction. As a result, OMQP shot up 7 1/2 today, to close at 20 5/8. I haven't looked at the stock channels on TV, but I suspect that this move is being talked about a lot.

I have to admit I had my doubts about the stories I was hearing last week, but as I stated in the August 18th update, "There may be some substance behind these rumors." One of the funny things in all of this is that an assembly-line worker at OMQP stated on Yahoo that "Terex" was a potential buyer of the Company. I suspect that someone overheard the name "Textron", and the rumor was garbled as it moved along.

With the stock now trading at 20 5/8, there is no point in waiting to receive $21.00 at some time in the future. Yes - you might make a few cents more per share, but on the other hand there is still a risk that the deal might not be completed, at which point the price would probably drop considerably. As the song says, "Take the money and run."
