The scary thing is that Apple doesn't even see itself as an Apple. What I mean is that some of the slowest sinking ships seem seaworthy on the surface for a long time. Many at Apple still believe, as they do at Novell, that they are leaders in the market in which they used to compete well. People in this business tend to be very myopic when looking in the mirror. Instead, Novell should be looking towards Redmond WA for direction, and some lessons on how to make money in the software business.
