SINKING BUCK COULD USE A BOOST FROM THE FED nypostonline.com WHEN the Federal Reserve meets tomorrow and Wednesday, it'll decide whether or not to raise interest rates based on ... how badly it needs to improve the value of the U.S. dollar. Nearly everyone is assuming that the Fed will make the rate decision on its perception of inflation. The government says inflation is under control; both the bond and commodities markets believe that view is nonsense. But that isn't the only argument that'll be batted back and forth at the Fed meeting. Of great concern - perhaps the most concern - will be the sinking dollar.
