Re Norton= Art Carney, the plumber in the Honeymooners with J Gleason and Alice.
The cookie jar is full, the closet is full of paper bags, there are lumps under the mattress and Kembles' pool is next.
Can anyone remember a better looking time for Dell?
1. The Dell logo now widespread and famous for quality
3. Years of experience in growing facilities, training workers,
running Web sites. Setting up overseas facilities.
Convincing suppliers to locate near Dell factories and deliver pronto.
4. America is going mobile with portables, a powerhouse for Dell
best rated stuff in the industry.
5. A move is on to store web info closer to the user for faster more efficient downloads. Will more than double the demand for servers and storage.
6. Assurance of future sales thru contracts to replace or
update entire computer systems for major buyers.
7. Leasing agreements and financing for those who prefer
to defer immediate expenses
8. (The CPQ situation is too painful to talk about.)
Now add in all the e. commerce opportunities discussed on the thread.
The only problem I see is the P/E. Its too low. Last I looked
Csco was 108, Yhoo was 835, qcom 283, aol 160 and Dell only 71 And Dell price is still in the 40's, where 70 and up has been far
more common.
