OK, you have given out BS on this one too many times to ignore. Let me say first that you have always made these comments from the sidelines. While you were commenting, I was writing instrument drivers in Java and the JNI to leverage existing resources. I was doing, you weren't.

I think we've discussed this before, but you have a very shallow understanding of C and C++ so how do you expect me to actually take you seriously when it comes to contrasting it with Java?

Nobody ever said Java was going to take over in months, certainly I never said that, ever. That is why you can't post a link to back it up. Unless and until you can post such a link, I suggest that you not make statements like that in the future.

Outside of C++, nothing in the history of this industry has caught on as fast or as ubiquitously as Java and Java-based technologies. It's been nothing short of remarkable. Even Microsoft writes new software using Java, such as their XML parser and the new graphics development tool. Delphi was a successful curiosity that is on its way out, the sales numbers speak for themselves. If those numbers increase in any meaningful way I will change my mind to reflect what is actually happening.

Speaking of happening, this company is happening into the ground. The printing and graphic arts hardware people Del brought in from Apple knew even less than he did about enterprise computing. I wouldn't be surprised if Del isn't telling Dale what to do next. They used up the honeymoon money and now it's time to put up or get out. Nobody would want to hire them into similar positions, and that goes a long way to explaining why they want to continue to hang in there and rake in the dough while they are at it.

What will happen if there is a takeover? Fuller and company will feel the door hit them hard in the butt as it's slammed shut. Maybe they can get a job in the fashion industry, continuing their tradition of taking positions where they have no expertise and even less knowledge.

(Mr. Coates, make your check payable to Macpherson's Superficial Intelligence. Thank you. AH HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!)
