There are many days it doesn't happen, like today or Friday Message 11001134 In fact in the past, it was much more frequent and obvious, especially when there were only one to four MM's, that the MM's deliberately low-ticked it at the end of the day. I didn't hear the same people (with exception of Kidl) complaining then about a tactic that was clearly designed to support the shorts. Why are people implying a criticism of MM's when they choose to support a high tick near close. It seems to me to be an indicator that at least one of the MM's may see the stock continuing to rise - though he could also be selling short at the ask. If the latter is the case, he'll likely attempt to cover tomorrow with a bid for 500 at a lower price. Sounds like normal course market activities in a market which is fluctuating, but has also gradually been trending higher. The supply of shares at these prices will likely become sketchier soon, and I believe that some MM's are comfortable having some inventory at the higher end of the current range.
