Macheme, Ill--(Business)--April 1, 1997-- US Robotics (NASDAQ-USRX) Shareholders are Rewarded. The Motey Fools reported today that by using newly discovered work of Nichola Tesla, scientists from U.S. Robotics and Lucent Technology (LU-NYSE) have found a way to reverse polarity in the atomic structure of copper wire inherent in POTS lines. By reversing the spin of the copper atom it has made speeds up to 6Mbps possible with no degradation of sound quality, while allowing POTS lines to "heal" themselves. Forcing the atomic structure into a more efficient alignment, the more the line is used, the more effective it becomes. "This is a major breakthrough in the search for faster Internet access", said Charles BonMot of Persiflage Systems, a research firm specializing in bandwidth issues. Tesla described this just before his death in 1943 in papers that had long been thought lost. Tesla called it the "Hudibrastic Principle", an allusion to the work of Samuel Butler. Similar to the now famous "tesla coil", the Hudibrastic Principle utilizes an air-core primary and a capacitor-tuned secondary as a source of high-frequency power. This is forced along copper wire which reverses polarity and aligns the atomic structure due to the Paradox Effect that Lucent engineers patented several years ago while still a unit of AT&T. U.S. Robotics and Lucent today confirmed the existence of the joint effort to establish this breakthrough technology. "We feel that it is in the best interest of both companies to work together in this exciting new arena", said Pattes de Velours, senior research coordinator for U.S. Robotics. "With all the recent consolidation in the networking sector, any edge that can be utilized will be an obvious advantage." "KFlex is dead in the water", said de Velours, "This should be a huge blow to ROK and it's supporters. After all who needs 56k now that H-Principle technology is available?" When asked about x2(TM), U.S. Robotics coyly pointed to the easily upgradeable Flash memory implemented in all x2 products. "It's a snap to change to H-P over the web", de Velours stated. "We plan on an easily affordable upgrade with this amazing new product that is now part of our end to end solution." Details can be found at tristate.pgh.net
