According to a press release TUTS will still share in revenue from 2.0 spec....

This is an excerpt from a TUTS press release dated in 27 July after the spec 2.0 announcement. (Full text of press release can be accessed by going to website above)

....Tut receives licensing revenue from the HomePNA companies that have integrated the 1.0 specification into their products. Because all next generation home networking products will include the HomePNA 1.0 specification, Tut will also derive licensing revenue from all products
integrated with the 2.0 specification when they become available.

"Tomorrow's houses will have networks and those networks need to be heterogeneous," said Peter Meade, Senior Telecom Analyst with Cahners In-Stat Group. "While those networks will have devices such as Web phones that will require data rates of 1 Mb/s, the same home network also must accommodate video applications, which will require faster data rates of 10 Mb/s.

The HomePNA is doing the right thing for the consumer market by ensuring that all offerings, such as HomePNA's 2.0 specification, is compatible with Tut's HomeRun. This is the only way to be sure that everything will be interoperable and future-ready as people add next-generation devices to theirnetworks."

As a leading provider of high-speed Internet access systems for multi-tenant properties -- including hotels, apartments, multi-tenant commercial buildings and dormitories -- Tut utilizes HomeRun and the HomePNA 1.0 standard to deploy high-speed Internet access over the existing telephone wires in the buildings to cost-effectively deliver an always-on Internet connection at speeds 20 times faster than a regular dial-up modem. Tut currently plans to implement the HomePNA 2.0 specification into its Expresso family of products for the multi-tenant unit market........

Also in an article appearing in MSN Money Central Sectors & Trends by Michael Parrish, he mentioned TUTS as a DSL play building equipment for multiple dwelling units such as apartment buildings, hotels and campuses.

TUTS and Solar Communications recently, 19 Aug 99, announced a deployment of TUTS Expresso MDU in a New Jersey Holiday Inn. It allows for hi-speed internet access for hotel guests over existing telephone lines. There is no construction disruption or guest room downtime.
