"We must always defend the scriptures and not our theology."
A very good line, DLL!
Another one that I have used throughout the years is: "Sometimes we let our theology get in the way of our honesty."
Subjects like "eternal security" are not that cut and dried.
Or what do you do with the scripture: "Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord."
Or unless one speaks in "tongues" he is not filled with the Spirit.
So---we box ourselves in with man-made theology, because we "read a book", or a popular preacher impressed us, or our church/denomination says this is the way.
Or baptism, do we immerse, pour, or sprinkle.
On TV the other night I was listening to a person telling about the benefit of prayiing to the Saints because they were such good persons and they would have the ear of Jesus.
On and on it goes.
Have a phenomenal Tuesday, DLL. You'll never have another day like today.
