ERP is for manufacturing companies, which represent roughly 1/3 of the total number of organizations globally.

At the typical organization at least twice as many individuals are involved in customer interaction as the number involved in manufacturing.

Simple math: 3 times the number of target companies and at least twice the number of seats.

It was best described by one of our big 5 partner contacts: "Well without customers, you sure don't need an ERP system."

There are many reasons ERP came first, the street continues to underestimate the sophistication required in customer management solutions (read barriers to entry) and the size of the market.
