mike, here is a little anecdote to this bull market. i work for a joint venture between two companies. one company, the 51% owner, has seen its stock rocket meteorically in the last 10 months. the stock is up 10 fold. since i don't work for the parent company, i don't get options. parent company employees, doing the same job in the same building, do. many are up a minimum of $350k in 10 months. much of this is due to the work that we do in the jv.

so, what reward does the jv get? they cancelled our picnic. nope, didn't bother tot ell anybody, it just never happened. i suspect this is to cut costs to try and justify the absurd stock price.

ain't that a *itch? i'm compensated very, very well, but this is just about too much to take.

the kicker is that they don't allow folks to transfer to the parent companies AND they reserve positions above mine for parent company employees. they are guaranteed to lose all their motivated and talented people and guaranteed to keep those who are happy just having a paycheck (but don't really work like it).

man, this is frustrating. if i do find an approximately equal compensating position then i'm gone. i'm looking hard.

send a special thanks to all those idiots who cancelled my d*mn picnic!
