Bill,
I hope that you and Jay can review some of what you know about QLT PhotoTherapeutics.
I got into this one partly out of interest in the unique manner PhotoFrin and other photosensitive drugs go about their work stopping cancer and blindness. The day after the article in Investor's Business Daily (can someone remind us of the date) about a month ago, I bought and have been riding the toboggan since. Whew.
Miraculously, It has stayed above 25% loss for me. I thought, and still think, this technique has a bright future, and am silly enough believe that if the company sells lots of stuff, later, after more approval and acceptance of the technique, the price of the stock will rise.
My wife showed that article to our doctor. He became angry. He obviously had heard enough about alternative cancer treatments and wanted to hear no more. Lots of resistance out there!
So what are the chances? Will the PhotoTherapeutics Techniques be approved? When? Will the medical providers finally accept the techniques on its benefits?
Since these benefits include lower cost and markedly less patient discomfort, there appears to be considerable advantage to its use. Is there a downside? What is it.
Lots of questions. Will look for responses.
Oh, yes, if you smoke, please stop or send in your replies quickly. PhotFrin is not yet approved for lung cancer in this country.
