Mike,

In addition to Sam's comments, IMO the industry needs to cut production in the short term to get aligned with supply. Seagate may not be willing to cut jobs in the short term if they expect demand to increase sharply next year. However, this is a great time to automate some tasks (while the demand is low) an be ready for their expected demand increases next year. With this plan the job reduction will help margins in the short term.

I have read and enjoyed many of your posts in the SI communications sector. Your broad knowledge of bandwidth increases in the "last mile" is very impressive. When do you think increased bandwidth to homes and businesses will have a large impact in the data storage area? Do you think the increased bandwidth to large companies is responsible for the 35% growth rate in high end storage? I would appreciate your opinions.

Thank you.
Mark M.
