I would have to think that they are shorting because they think the merger will require additional shares to be issued or more finacing, both of which will probably drive the share price down.

Now if FRO says to go ahead without the need for additional shares or finacing, you may have a real good squeeze. Not that that's likely, but it would be nice for those that are holding GBLX. ( I'm not one of them, but I like keeping an eye on it.)
