Then I suggest getting some better sources of information. Either that, or share your information with AMD. I wouldn't mind if you led them into a false sense of security.

But let's assume you're right, and Intel knows it. Why should Intel continue with Merced, if it's going to be embarassed by the "lowly" Athlon? Better that Intel scrap the project, endure the flak, and go with McKinley, than to continue on with Merced only to wind up in disaster. I'm very sure that Craig Barrett is more than willing to do just that if what you say is true.
