They "walked", and I was the only one who cared enough to line'm up twice a day, then once a day. Just for giggles I stopped, and the rugs walked until they were completely accordioned into the feet of the heater. Even with them properly placed, I HATED the patches of cold floor in between. I'm a big believer in wall-to-wall. Like good bedsheets, it is an elemental pleasure of haveing a place to live. Our carpet is the color of drier lint. Exactly. There's hardwood under it; I have no clue what shape it's in. The closets look ok.
