If the shares are not available for shorting, ie, borrowing, and the broker /dealers that accepted all those short sales earlier have not been able to borrow them in the 13 days after they accepted, the broker/dealers HAVE to buy them on the open market. Brown & Co and E-Trade are not accepting short sales (unless you have the stock in your account.?)

Unfortunately, there appears to be a lot of interest in selling, based on the shares tendered to USW. That alone should prevent the price from rocketing up.

The next important question is, What happens tothe share price after all the shorts have covered?
