Ronnie: Thanks for the response--glad to hear you didn't really get burned. It's always tempting to jump into a low-priced issue with some flashy sales figures.

In looking recently at archived press releases and interview statements by Aura Systems and its CEO Zvi "Harry" Kurtzman, I found a tendency to glibly predict huge revenues in upcoming years. Historically viewed, the statements were way off the mark. For instance, an 11/94 article said that Kurtzman expected that year's sales to be $100 million. They actually came in at around $40 million. Sounds more like corporate relations bullshit than an honest mistake to me.

This discovery inspired me to reread Warren Buffett's comments on how much he values candor in the relationship between management and shareholders. "The CEO who misleads others in public," Buffett says, "may eventually mislead himself in private." Not to mention laying to waste shareholder value in the process. Enough said.

It will be interesting to see whether the $140 million-plus in revenues now projected by Aura for FY'97 ever come close to fruition, along with the first-time posting of a profit.

Later.....
