OT: I use 2 monitors with Win 98..and it's great!

I simply put in 2 video cards (Matrox Milleniums; not the newest and best but I had them handy). Win 98 automatically detects the cards and both monitors fire up. You can use the Display Control Panel to make settings (which can be different) for each display.

The caveats are that you need the extra slot, both cards must be capable of use with multiple displays (many are not) and you may need extra RAM...you'll find you have "more stuff open" than before.
