That "slap on the wrist" may eliminate any rights Microsoft might otherwise have had under the contract they violated, and subject them to damages (which I imagine they can afford, but nonetheless ...). It seems to me the decision probably also deals a blow to Microsoft's counterclaims.

I suppose rumors that Win2000 might actually be released in this millennium could account for some of the boost -- who would have guessed?

But that's JMHO, and certainly not a legal opinion or anything on which anybody should base an investment decision.
