Regarding Dell and Red Hat Linus, a few thoughts on this.

This may be the first time Linux will be given the chance to penetrate the desktop and end-user market. Linux has already made a name for itself in the server marketplace. But the area where Linux is lacking is on the desktop.

Also, this is Dell. Dell would only make such a move if they knew they could make a market of it.

At the same time, I wouldn't make more of this news than it simply is. No hype is needed, as we still need to see how well accepted Linux is in the mass-market.

...but all in all, definitely a step in the right direction for Red Hat and the Linux Community.
