Jay, I don't know how they acquired the stock but the registration is just a registration of the intent to sell not necessarily a sale today at this price. You are probably aware of that but... As a side issue most individuals with wealth concentrated in one stock feel that diversification is a necessity (certainly true with a stock with VECO's volatility). You can imagine a couple of years from now when you peel off some CYMI at 200 we will say, "Well, he had too!" VBG
