I tend to agree with his analysis. Now that I understand a bit more about BOUT, I do think they at least have a strategy to monetize their heavy traffic. I tend to understand things a bit better when I try them out myself. I subscribe to the about.com newsletter on Net Search, and this keeps me in touch with that guide's views and the website. I can see how that would have value. A further note: some of the free info I got on PCDataOnline's site seemed to indicate that About was doing very well with women, statistically/significantly better than with men it looked like. This is probably a good thing, since a lot of the growth will be there.
