I could hypothesize that the wood floor lovers are more sophisticated and cosmopolitan, but the evidence tends against it.<g>

We've got Michael Sphar, who is a known racoon-lover, even going to the extent of buying a wading pool for the babies; Gauguin and MJ, who have separate dishes for every cat, several of which are rescued, and several meal choices for the cats, too; Ish, who has horses, dogs, and a rescued cat named Peanut; and CobaltBlue, who has four cats and a dog. Not just cat-lovers, animal lovers. With large, messy households. It could just be a cleanliness thing, but for me it's really an aesthetic thing.

I love the look of polished wood, I think it's beautiful. I've got beautiful solid wood bookcases, golden oak and cherry, my sofas are mission style oak with wooden arms. My decor is fairly simple, a couple of reproduction tapestries, one of the Bayeaux (Navigo), one William Morris (Woodpecker), I've got a copy of a sabretooth tiger skull, named Ralph, and a stuffed fox named Stupid. Imitation Tiffany lamps, cheap oriental carpets. Offwhite walls. The floors are between cherry and oak.
