Dear VanGo 101: Latest rumors on the field have it that this Bellevue #1-17R well, at its current stage, has a deliverability estimates of as high as 50 million Cubic Feet of HIGH BTU Gas per day, constrained only by the diameter of the pipe !
Given the above, personally, I applaud the decision by its partners to stop any further drilling and instead start completing the well. Afterall, there is much higher risk associated with ever-increasing temperatures and pressures at further depths. The last thing anyone would want is the repeat of last November's massive blowout !
In my opinion, this great discovery, of course, is a credit to all those involved who took the early risk and persisted in the face of very adverse circumstances.
This discovery, fortunately, further validates the concepts of Tri-Valley's management for this area, which is fast becoming North America's largest onshore oil and gas play.
I am anticipating much more excitement to come from this area in the near future !
PS. I understand that there shall soon be a toll-free phone number, sponsored by our Canadian EKHO joint-venture partners, where people can call and receive occasional updates on the status of the EKHO project. |
