Bridges.com signs South Carolina state-wide distributor Bridges.com Inc BIT Shares issued 9,466,250 Aug 24 close $3.05 Tue 24 Aug 99 News Release Mr. Doug Manning reports The South Carolina Occupational Information System (SCOIS), the primary distributor of career information systems in the state, has been signed as the exclusive South Carolina distributor of Bridges.com's CX Online service. SCOIS has set a goal to distribute 150 CX licences to South Carolinian schools over the next year. SCOIS presently provides career information services to over 600 schools, colleges, employment agencies, libraries, and vocational/technical institutes in the state. "South Carolina is the second state to establish a distribution partnership with our Company.", said Doug Manning, chief executive officer and president of Bridges.com. "Carol Kososki, the director of SCOIS, has been a leader in the U.S. in the development and distribution of quality career information systems. The number of U.S. subscribing sites has grown from 1,044 in August, 1998, to a current total of 2,524, representing a 141-per-cent increase. Excluding the new sites involved in the province-wide Ontario purchase, 95 per cent of new sales in the last 12 months have been in the U.S. market. Bridges.com publishes on-line career-life resources that connect young people to the world in meaningful ways. Over 4,100 schools across North America subscribe to its Career Explorer service. The South Carolina Occupational Information System distributes career information products and services to people in the state of South Carolina. Their staff also provide customized training related to its resources. More than 632 sites use its information services. |
