Re: T1, DSL, Cable, etc.

Don't believe the hype. I've had a cable modem for two years and the idea of trying to get video on demand through it is laughable. First generation Broadband turns end-user bandwidth on the net from an eyedropper into a turkey baster. A huge improvement to be sure, but not even a garden hose. Until you can get a garden hose to a reasonable percentage of households video on demand schemes will remain in the lab and in limited deployment in special environments only (e.g., hotels). That will only come with fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) deployments which will be part of the post-2010 broadband landscape.
