NEW YORK, April 1 (Reuter) - Ascend Communications Inc was trading up 6/16 to 40-13/16 in
after-hours trading on Tuesday, after falling 1/8 during regular hours, traders said.
"That's probably from the Cascade deal," one trader said.
Ascend fell 10-1/2 points Monday after its announcement that it will acquire Cascade
Communications Corp to broaden its share of the computer networking market. But its price
recovered some upward momentum late Tuesday.
Otherwise, after-hours trading was fairly quiet after several up-and-down days on Wall Street.
"I guess everyone's had enough," the trader said.
The New York Stock Exchange said session one volume was 613,100, compared to 134,300 on
Monday. Session two volume was 8,094,962, while on Monday it was 8,572,700. |
