This is exactly why the Chicago Mercantile Exchange charges $55 per month for the privilege of seeing the quotes live. The S&P 500 futures data is not delayed in the evening hours during GLOBEX trading, but it is delayed during the pit trading hours if you aren't paying the CME exchange fee.

The CME give away free real-time data for the S&P Mini contrect (ES99U) to attract viewers. Many people use this to track the SPX futures in real-time for free - it is quite active. You do get updates on the S&P 500 spot index (INDEX:SPX.X, INDEX:INX) at no extra charge.
