Results for the first six months of 1999 improved by 37 per cent over the same
period last year. Sales for the six months were $735,937 as compared with $653,321
last year and losses for the period dropped to $30,418 including $46,494 for
depreciation. Recent purchase orders for the company's new computer systems will
be recorded in the third quarter following installation. During the first six months of
1999 the number of pets being microchipped by veterinarians using Anitech's
PetNet system increased by 36 per cent and microchip sales to veterinarians jumped
by 68 per cent.
During the first six months of 1999 Anitech received purchase orders for its new
proprietary DT-500 data collection computer system from Maple Leaf Meats and
J.M. Schneider Meats. The company is working on additional DT-500 sales
opportunities in Canada, the United States and China; meeting with potential
international distributors; and, exploring expanding the system's use from the pork to
the beef processing industry. Also, initial response to Anitech's new PetNet Visa
card has been positive.
